Strategy to Strengthening Forest Farming for Sustainable Mangrove Forest Management in the Coastal Area, Deli Serdang, Indonesia

Mangrove forests can be used directly or indirectly by communities/farmer groups around the coast. However, with rampant forest destruction that occurs, community farmer need to equipped capacity building about importance of mangrove ecosystem and its impact on their livelihood. This study aims identify condition in research area determine strategies for institutional development coastal areas at Production Forest Management Unit. The method is a qualitative interviews; while analytical SWOT analysis. Based results analysis Internal Factor Analysis Summary (IFAS) strength factor value 0.054 weakness 0.47. From calculation internal environment score value, namely minus factor, x was obtained as horizontal axis 0.054-0.047 = 0.007. External (EFAS) results, opportunity had threats having 0.047. showed external (EFAS), (opportunities) reduced threat Y vertical. identification factors indicated position quadrant one (I) an aggressive supports SO strategy (aggressive strategy)
